Our Team

Alton Byrd

Throughout his life, J. Alton Byrd has been leading and coaching others to reach their full potential. When he attended Riordan High School in San Francisco, California, Byrd captained his high school basketball team to numerous championships. While completing his degree in Urban Studies and Economics at Columbia University, Byrd was captain of the basketball team for three years. In 1979, Byrd was named America's Best Player under 6 feet.

Successfully mixing business with his love of sports, Byrd left Scotland in May of 1987 to join the world famous Manchester United Sports Organization and played for Manchester United Basketball Club. As captain, Alton led Manchester United to the European Cup Quarterfinals, while also beginning a career as a stockbroker with Ashworth Sons and Barrett, a local Manchester brokerage house. Two years later, Byrd joined Svenska and Company in London to become an equities trader. At the same time he joined the Kingston Basketball Club as both player and general manager for five years.

In 1989, Byrd transitioned his skills into creating his own sports marketing company, Alton Byrd Associates, a sports marketing firm, specializing in transitioning American companies into the United Kingdom (UK). In the following 11 years, Alton Byrd Associates would become one of the leading marketing firms in the UK.

Today, Byrd is the Founder and CEO of the Clear Focus Companies. He helps senior executives, entrepreneurs, and sports marketing executives achieve their goals by utilizing his extensive background to provide objective input and structured guidance to enhance any chosen career field or lifestyle change.

Patricia Turner

Patricia Turner is a 13 year veteran in the marketing and advertising business. She began her career with Eller Media Outdoor Advertising (currently Clear Channel Outdoor), as a marketing assistant, she then went on to hold several positions within the company. After realizing her full potential she decided to expand her media planning/buying skills by joining National Cable Communications. As the Senior Media Planner, she bought air time on several national cable channels. She has served as a consultant for Carol H. Williams Advertising, where she created cross promotional and marketing campaigns for several companies such as Luster Products, UC Davis Medical Center, AT&T, GMC and Coors Light. Her natural ability and keen instincts led her to start her own marketing and consulting company working with companies to secure sports marketing/branding opportunities for local and national events. Ms. Turner has worked with Fortune 500 companies such as Nike, Verizon, Starcom Worldwide, Reebok, etc. Patricia is a member of NABFEME, the National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and Entertainment and Women In Sports Career Network.

Sharon Broughton, Virtual Office Manager

Sharon is Alton's virtual manager. She has worked with Alton since 2003 and she provides administrative assistance, client coordination, web design and many other things.
