Our Team

Alton Byrd

Throughout his life, J. Alton Byrd has been leading and coaching others to reach their full potential. When he attended Riordan High School in San Francisco, California, Byrd captained his high school basketball team to numerous championships. While completing his degree in Urban Studies and Economics at Columbia University, Byrd was captain of the basketball team for three years. In 1979, Byrd was named America's Best Player under 6 feet.

Successfully mixing business with his love of sports, Byrd left Scotland in May of 1987 to join the world famous Manchester United Sports Organization and played for Manchester United Basketball Club. As captain, Alton led Manchester United to the European Cup Quarterfinals, while also beginning a career as a stockbroker with Ashworth Sons and Barrett, a local Manchester brokerage house. Two years later, Byrd joined Svenska and Company in London to become an equities trader. At the same time he joined the Kingston Basketball Club as both player and general manager for five years.

In 1989, Byrd transitioned his skills into creating his own sports marketing company, Alton Byrd Associates, a sports marketing firm, specializing in transitioning American companies into the United Kingdom (UK). In the following 11 years, Alton Byrd Associates would become one of the leading marketing firms in the UK.

Today, Byrd is the Founder and CEO of the Clear Focus Companies. He helps senior executives, entrepreneurs, and sports marketing executives achieve their goals by utilizing his extensive background to provide objective input and structured guidance to enhance any chosen career field or lifestyle change.

Laura Wright, Senior PR Consultant

From full-service event management, marketing, public relations, and graphic design services to business consulting, Laura covers all aspects of business and public relations. Laura has over 8 years of industry experience and the PR team leverages our network of entertainment and production resources to appeal to specific targeted audiences.

Laura is dedicated to finding and developing creative solutions and campaigns for our clients. She doesn't believe in the "one size fits all" theory. Successful marketing campaigns result from careful planning, diligent research and meeting the client's expectation. Helping clients accomplish sponsorship and marketing goals continues to be a cornerstone of our success. With an in-depth, first hand understanding of the latest technology available to businesses, Laura is an expert at bridging the gap between public relations and technology.

Sharon Broughton, Virtual Office Manager
